I’m blogging real quick to let everyone know I’ll be MIA until Tuesday 4th May next week! I’m visiting my hubby who I haven’t seen for a while and can’t wait! hahahahaha. I won’t have internet access at all and won’t be able to post so I’m going to do a little reminder and some things and some that ARE going to be happening in a few days- hee hee

OOH OOH and I forgot to show you my new hair doooooo- lol

Not the best pic as I got my housekeeper to take it quick- hahaha, but boy it’s a big change from medium length dreary locks stuck back with an alice band the last three months! hahaha- I LOVE it and Wayne loves it too- say’s my spunk is back. Now he just needs to see it in REAL life! that black is BLUE BLACK! hahaha a colour I haven’t been before ;-) I now have to grow those side bangs below my chin- PATIENCE was never my strong point with my hair! lol but we will try ;-)

Freedom Day holiday

It’s Freedom Day today here in South Africa, Celebrating the first  non-racial national elections where everyone no matter what colour/race or religion had the right to place their vote. I remember the day so clearly (27 April 1994) , there was much panic as well as excitement at the changes happening in South Africa at the time. We’ve come a long way since then, with a long way to go too. But I sure am proud to have been apart of that change ;-)

I promised to let you in on a little more of my sister Gaye’s and my relationship- and OH dear Lord she is going to kill me I think- hee hee

We weren’t always close ( as most siblings are) and fought like cat and dogs in our teens. Gaye was the stubborn one, me the joker and well lets just say that sharing a bedroom at the ages of 17 and 18 had it’s drawbacks- lol.

Gaye would throw her toys out the cot about something I left lying around ( which was often- ooops) and I would think it funny and burst out laughing at her- mmmmmmmmm, I learnt that wasn’t a good thing- as WACK, I would get whatever she was holding in her hand over my head ( not softly either- lol). She broke a few hairbrushes over my head while we were teens and sharing a room- BWHAHAHA,  I must admit, laughing more did NOT help the matter. lol. Sorry sis, but they were funny times and I still laugh at it. Mom would have the sh-ts and tell us to take it outside and that she would buy us boxing gloves –hahahaha.

But that all changes when we landed up moving out and growing up I suppose. Gaye and I both landed up working in the SAME Advertising house too! She worked in Traffic and I in the design studio. And here we are again- working side by side doing what we love- DESIGNING!

Love you sis and you mean the world to me ;-)

I think I’m one of the luckiest designers out there at the moment. I get to work with my Sister Gaye- GS Creations. Not only do we share a love of the *arts* and of course family- but we have designing now as a shared interest! I can’t tell you just how wonderful it is to be able to send my sis a pic of something I’m working on and she sends a mail back going- Oh that’s ok but maybe if you did this or that it might look better? –lol. Sound wierd? But it’s the honesty and being able to say it to *family* knowing they aren’t going to take it wrong but that it’s there to help without any hidden agenda’s. ( ok I can call Bunny Wunny a sister too then- hee hee) But you KWIM? lol

Hair cut

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeee- I am sooo excited this morning as I am going to have my hair done for the first time since August last year!! OUCH, trust me it’s been a long time coming- hahah. But it has some length now for the first time in years – PLAY TIME- yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

OMGOSH- yesterday Nathan came home with his only pair of takkies ( sneakers) smiling off the bottom of his foot- lol. The boy has such big feet and is sooo freaking fussy about WHAT style he buys that he gets one pair and wears them to shreds! So it was and emergency run to the shops yesterday! 4 hours later we made it home with a pair that where “OK”- but not what he wanted- I eventually MADE him buy them in frustration- hahahaha. Size 12UK (13US) fashion sneakers are not so readily available!

Then we stopped to buy some groceries and as we opened the doors of the car - the heavens opened – and I mean OPENED_ BWHAHA- I got drenched running 1m to the door! OY. What a day ;-)

My baby turns 19

AHHHH- my little boy is 19 today! Yup, it’s 19 years ago I was on my way to the hospital to go push him out-lol .ARRRRKKKKKKKKK, oh hell that means I’m old right?? BWWWWWWAHAHA ( don’t panic- I still feel 18 most days). But dang the years fly past don’t they??

This was taken the day after his 3rd Bday! I miss that little tyke-lol.

Taken on Easter Weekend on the sly-lol OY!

Someone asked me if I’m having the *mopes* about Nathan turning into an adult- and you know, I LOVE the adult Nathan, I have loved each age as he has reached it as each one has brought about another little piece of his personality, But I will admit I miss the *mommy* bit- when she was needed for everything because he couldn’t do it himself or just because it was better for *mommy* to do it-hahaha.

Now it’s only when he is sick or really stuck with something that I get the “MOM”- (or if she says something embarrassing which happens often lol.)

Now days I can’t get that involved in his outdoor sports anymore- I mean COME ON----- now ways in hell I’m standing next to THESE!-lol

Yes it’s ALIVE and he put it back in the water by dragging it back into the waves behind him! UHUM_ if I was anywhere near there I would be having hyperventilation and panic attacks! hahahaha.

Or going out to SEA in one of these>??

The latest thing is to use a *fishing ski* to catch DEAP SEA fish! OY. This was the day he had bought it and was trying it out in the pool- BWWWWWWAHAHA- it was the same length so he was going nowhere fast-lol

His Dad isn’t here today so I got up a little earlier and made him a cooked breakfast (OMG, i was gagging at that time of the morning making it- BWHAHAHAHA) But at least he felt special this morning. Tonight we will be going to eat at his favourite restaurant and I’m looking forward to it.

Happy Birthday my Boy, you make me proud!
